Legal Information
Last updated: 26 October 2026
This page brings together the legal information that applies to this website and to the services we provide through it. It explains who operates the site, how the business is registered in the United Kingdom, the rules that apply when you browse or place an order, how our written and visual material may be used, and how you can contact us or raise a complaint. It is written in plain language so that the formal details expected of a commercial website in the United Kingdom are easy to find.
Please read it together with the other documents that govern our relationship with you: the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, the Terms and Conditions of sale and supply, and the Payment and Refund Policy. Where this notice and one of those documents deal with the same point, the more specific document governs that point.
1. About this legal notice
This legal notice is the operator information page for this website. It is not marketing material and it does not replace the contract you enter into with us when you buy a service, book a training place, or download a resource. Its purpose is to identify the business behind the site, to set out the statutory identifiers that United Kingdom law requires a trading company to publish, and to summarise the rules that apply to the site itself.
We review this notice at least once a year, and also whenever our business, our suppliers or the law changes. When we make a change we update the date shown at the top of the page. If a change is significant — for example, a change in the legal entity that operates the site, or a change in the way we handle personal data — we will draw attention to it on this page rather than quietly amending the text.
Nothing in this notice affects your statutory rights as a consumer in the United Kingdom. Where a provision of this notice would reduce a right that the law gives you, that provision does not apply to you.
2. Who we are and what we do
The website you are reading is operated by fameplo. In this notice, "we", "us" and "our" mean that operator, and "you" means the person visiting the site or using our services.
We are a professional resource for studio production in motion. Our material covers studio equipment setup, dynamic camera operation and movement, lighting design, sound and the behaviour of sound waves in a studio environment, and the workflows that hold those elements together so that television news output and live shows can be produced smoothly, safely and to a consistent standard. Our audience is made up of producers, directors, studio managers, camera operators, sound engineers, lighting technicians, technical crews, students and trainers who need practical, credible guidance rather than entertainment.
We are responsible for the editorial content published on this site. We decide what appears on the site, how it is presented, and how information collected through the site is used. In data protection terms we act as the controller of personal data processed through this website, and our responsibilities in that role are described in our Privacy Policy.
3. Legal form, registration details, tax identifiers and responsible representatives
The business behind this site is carried on by a private limited company incorporated in England and Wales. United Kingdom company law — in particular section 82 of the Companies Act 2006 and the Company, Limited Liability Partnership and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015 — requires a company to disclose its registered name on its websites, and to include specified details on its business correspondence, order forms, invoices and similar communications. Company law is supported here by the information duties that apply to online traders and service providers under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 and the Provision of Services Regulations 2009. The details below are published so that you can identify exactly who you are dealing with, verify our registration, and check our tax status.
- Registered Company Name: Adlib Audio Limited
- Company Registration Number: 03555097
- Place of Registration: England and Wales
- Legal Form: Private limited company
- VAT Registration Number: 477222243
- Site and Trading Name: fameplo
- Registered Office: Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG
- Email: info@nfts.co.uk
- Telephone: 01494 671234
Our company registration number is the eight-digit number assigned to us by Companies House when the company was incorporated, and it can be checked free of charge on the public register. Our VAT registration number is the number under which we are registered for Value Added Tax with HM Revenue and Customs; it appears on our invoices and can be verified through HMRC's published verification service. If you are a business customer and need to reclaim VAT, please quote the number above when you process our invoice.
Responsibility for the management of the company rests with its board of directors, who are the persons authorised to act on the company's behalf and to enter into contracts in its name. Day-to-day responsibility for this website, for the accuracy of the guidance published on it, and for compliance with data protection law sits with the company's management team. Enquiries about the content of the site, about legal notices, or about the exercise of data protection rights should be sent to the email address published on this page and will be routed to the appropriate person.
We do not hold or claim any regulated professional title, and the guidance published on this site is technical and educational rather than a substitute for a site-specific risk assessment, an electrical safety inspection, or the advice of a qualified structural or electrical engineer engaged for your own production. Where our work involves the hire, installation or configuration of studio equipment, the relevant safety and electrical standards apply in full and are addressed in the contract for that work rather than on this page.
4. Registered office and contact details
Our registered office, which is the address at which formal documents and legal notices may be served on the company, is Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. Correspondence sent there is logged and forwarded to the team that handles it, but it is not a collection point for equipment and it is not staffed for walk-in visitors or deliveries.
The quickest way to reach us is by email at info@nfts.co.uk, or by telephone on 01494 671234. Our website also has a Contacts page with a contact form, which is the appropriate route for general enquiries, requests for a quotation, and questions about the material published on this site. If you are writing about a data protection matter, please put "Data Protection" in the subject line so that your message reaches the right person without delay.
We aim to acknowledge enquiries within two working days and to provide a substantive answer within ten working days. If your enquiry needs input from a specialist — for example, an enquiry about a commercial contract, a licensing request, or a rights complaint — it may take longer, and we will tell you if that is the case. Please note that we do not accept service of legal proceedings, contractual notices or formal complaints by social media message, and that only written notice sent to the email or postal address above counts as formal notice.
5. Purpose, scope and intended audience of this website
This site exists to explain and demonstrate studio production practice. It describes how a studio floor is laid out and cabled, how cameras are positioned and moved to give a shot the energy a live programme needs, how lighting is designed and controlled, how sound is captured and mixed, and how all of this is sequenced into a workflow that survives the pressure of a live transmission or a continuous news cycle.
The site is intended for professional and semi-professional use. It assumes a basic familiarity with production terminology, and it is aimed at people who need to make practical decisions rather than at a general consumer audience. It is published in English for readers in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. Where we describe equipment, techniques or standards, we describe them in general terms; the specific configuration that is right for your studio depends on your space, your power supply, your crew and your programme format, and you must satisfy yourself that anything you adopt is suitable and safe for your circumstances.
The site is a commercial site. We may charge for training, consultancy, downloadable resources, or equipment-related services, and where we do, the terms of the relevant contract apply in addition to this notice. Nothing on the site is an offer capable of acceptance until we confirm it in writing.
6. Access to the website and acceptable use
You may browse the public areas of this site free of charge. We do not guarantee that the site, or any part of it, will always be available or uninterrupted; we may suspend, withdraw or restrict access to all or part of the site for business or operational reasons, including maintenance, security updates and changes to our services.
When you use this site you agree not to do any of the following:
- use the site in any way that breaches applicable law, or that facilitates a breach of the law by somebody else;
- introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or any other material that is malicious or technologically harmful, or otherwise attack the site, its servers or any connected system;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, the server on which it is stored, or any server, computer or database connected to it;
- copy, scrape, harvest or systematically extract content, contact information, pricing, course material or imagery from the site, whether by manual means or by automated tool, without our written permission;
- use the site or its content to train, fine-tune or benchmark an automated system, or to build a competing dataset, product or publication;
- remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice that appears on the site or in material downloaded from it;
- misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with any person or organisation, or post or transmit material that is defamatory, discriminatory, harassing or unlawful.
Where you submit material to us — for example through the contact form or in response to a request for feedback — you confirm that you have the right to send it, that it is not confidential, and that we may use it to answer your enquiry and to improve our services. We may suspend or terminate your access to the site if we reasonably believe that you have broken these rules, and we may report suspected criminal activity to the relevant authorities and cooperate with them.
7. Intellectual property, trade marks and permitted use of content
All intellectual property rights in this website and in the material published on it — including text, production diagrams, shot plans, signal-flow charts, photographs, video, audio demonstrations, graphics, layout, code and the selection and arrangement of the content — are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, by trade mark law, by database right and by equivalent laws in other countries. All rights are reserved.
Our company name, our site name, our logos and our product and service names are trade marks or registered trade marks belonging to us or to our licensors. You may refer to us by name in a factual, non-misleading way — for example, when citing a technique described on this site — but you may not use our marks in a way that suggests endorsement, partnership or sponsorship without our prior written consent. Third-party product names, equipment brands and standards referenced on this site remain the property of their respective owners and are used for identification only.
Subject to the restrictions in section 6, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive licence to:
- view the site and its content in a standard web browser;
- print or download individual pages, checklists and diagrams for your own internal professional reference, or for teaching within your own organisation;
- quote short extracts, with a clear credit to fameplo and, where the extract is published online, a plain reference to this site as the source.
You may not republish substantial parts of the site, sell or hire out our material, distribute it as part of a paid course, include it in a product or publication of your own, or create a derivative work from it without our written permission. Requests for commercial licensing, translation, republication or training use should be sent to info@nfts.co.uk and will be considered individually. We take infringement of our rights seriously and reserve the right to take civil action and, where appropriate, to seek the removal of infringing material.
8. Accuracy, availability and proportionate limits of liability
We take reasonable care to ensure that the technical guidance published on this site is accurate at the time it is written, and we correct errors when they are brought to our attention. However, studio production practice, equipment, software and broadcast standards change constantly, and equipment behaves differently in different rooms. The content of this site is therefore provided for general information and professional reference. It is not a substitute for a site-specific risk assessment, for the manufacturer's instructions, for your own electrical and structural checks, or for advice from a qualified engineer engaged for your production.
We do not promise that the site will be free of errors or omissions, that it will always be available, or that any defect will be corrected within a particular time. We do not control the networks over which the site is delivered and we are not responsible for interruptions caused by your equipment, your internet service provider or events outside our reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data, and indirect or consequential loss arising out of or in connection with your use of this site or reliance on its content. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our liability to you in connection with the site is limited to the amount you have paid us for the specific service to which the claim relates, or to one hundred pounds if you have paid us nothing.
Nothing in this notice excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of the terms implied by sections 9 to 11 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. If you are a consumer, the goods and services we supply to you must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and performed with reasonable care and skill, and that is a legal right you can rely on whatever this notice says.
9. External links and third-party content
This site may from time to time refer to or link to websites, equipment manufacturer documentation, standards bodies, software tools or services operated by other organisations. Those references are provided for convenience and context only. We do not control third-party sites, we do not endorse them, and we are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, their security or their privacy practices.
When you follow a reference to an external service, you leave this site and you become subject to that operator's own terms and policies. We recommend that you read them before providing any personal information or placing any order. If you believe that material we have referenced or linked to is unlawful, infringing or misleading, please tell us at info@nfts.co.uk and we will review the reference and remove it if that is appropriate.
Where our site displays or embeds content supplied by third parties — for example acknowledgements, credits or quoted material — that content remains the responsibility of the party that supplied it. We do not adopt third-party statements as our own, and their inclusion does not imply any endorsement by us.
10. Personal data, cookies and electronic communications
We process personal data in accordance with the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the controller of that data, and our contact point for data protection matters is info@nfts.co.uk. In summary, we collect the information you give us when you use the contact form, subscribe to a service, request a quotation or place an order; we use it to answer your enquiry, to provide the service you have asked for, to keep proper business records, to meet our legal and tax obligations, and to protect our legal rights. We rely on the lawful bases of contract, legal obligation, legitimate interests and, where required, consent.
You have the right to be informed about how your data is used, to request a copy of the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased in certain circumstances, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive data you provided to us in a portable format. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, which is the supervisory authority for the United Kingdom. We keep personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or for as long as the law requires us to keep it for tax and accounting purposes, and we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep it secure.
Our site uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie banner appears across the site and asks for your choices before non-essential cookies are set. Cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function do not require consent; analytics, preference and marketing cookies are used only where the rules on privacy and electronic communications permit and, where consent is required, only after you have given it. You can change or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through the banner or your browser settings.
The following documents form part of this notice and should be read alongside it:
- Privacy Policy — how we collect, use, share, store and delete personal data, how long we keep it, and how to exercise your rights.
- Cookie Policy — the cookies and similar technologies used on this site, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to manage your preferences.
- Terms and Conditions — the terms on which we supply services, training and digital resources, including payment, delivery, cancellation and termination.
- Payment and Refund Policy — accepted payment methods, invoicing, VAT treatment, refunds, credits and the process for returning or cancelling a paid service.
11. Prices, VAT, orders, cancellation and refunds
Prices shown on this site are quoted in pounds sterling and, where indicated, include Value Added Tax at the prevailing rate. Where a price is shown excluding VAT, that is made clear before you place your order, and VAT is added at checkout or shown separately on the invoice. We may change our prices at any time, but changes do not affect orders we have already confirmed in writing.
When you order a service from us, the contract is formed when we confirm your order. If you are a consumer, you have a statutory right to cancel a distance contract within fourteen days of the day the contract is concluded, and we will tell you how to cancel in the order confirmation. Different rules apply to services that have been fully performed with your agreement before the cancellation period ends, and to bespoke consultancy, live training events and made-to-order work where the law allows a shorter or excluded cancellation right. Where a service is defective or is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which may include a repeat performance or a price reduction. Full details are set out in the Terms and Conditions and the Payment and Refund Policy.
If you are a business customer, our trading terms, agreed payment periods, credit arrangements and any agreed service levels are those set out in your written contract with us. VAT is charged in accordance with United Kingdom law on all taxable supplies.
12. Complaints, consumer rights and dispute resolution
We would rather put a problem right than argue about it. If you are unhappy with anything we have done, please contact us first at info@nfts.co.uk or on 01494 671234 with a short description of the issue, the date it arose, and what outcome you are looking for. We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days and aim to give you a substantive response within twenty working days, keeping you informed if it takes longer.
If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you have further options. You may seek advice from Citizens Advice, from a trading standards service, or from another advisory body. Where the dispute concerns a service we have supplied to you as a consumer, we will tell you whether we are willing to use an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) provider; the Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not oblige a trader to participate in ADR, and we will confirm our position in writing if you ask. Nothing in this section prevents you from taking court action, or from exercising any right you have to a chargeback or similar remedy through your payment provider.
13. Applicable law and jurisdiction
This notice, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or with the use of this site, is governed by the law of England and Wales. Subject to the paragraph below, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute.
If you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which you live, and you benefit from any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply there. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, nothing in this notice deprives you of the protection afforded by the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence. Where the law of another jurisdiction applies because of a mandatory rule, the remaining provisions of this notice continue to apply.
14. Changes to this notice and how to reach us
We may update this notice at any time to reflect changes in our business, our suppliers, our services or the law. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies, and the "last updated" date at the top of the page shows when it was last amended. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect means that you accept the updated notice.
If you have questions about this notice, about our registration details, about the use of our material, or about a complaint, please write to us at info@nfts.co.uk, telephone 01494 671234, or write to us at Beaconsfield Studios, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, HP9 1LG. The Contacts page on this site also provides a contact form for general enquiries.
